Victoriana: A Lecture on the Victorian Era, Customs and Decor

Tharpe Antiques presents a lecture on Victoriana, a study on the Victorian era in England and America, influenced by a very powerful monarch, Queen Victoria. Discover and learn about her reign and influences, the Industrial Revolution, design and concepts of the time, and the influences this time period still has on our world and decor today. Informative, exciting and magnificent - come and find out why Victoriana was called the Age of Refined Sensibilities and why it flourished for nearly 70 years. A Celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Founding of Unionville
In partnership with St. Stephens AME Church in Unionville, the exhibit will focus on photos, artifacts (uniforms) and other memorabilia of the period. A special feature will be discussion of the 18 Union soldiers from the USCT who fought in the Civil War and returned to create Unionville.
Trains in Talbot County - An Agent of Change
The coming of railroads to the isolated Eastern Shore had an enormous impact on economic development, the creation of new towns and the culture of Talbot County. Models, photos and artifacts will be displayed to tell the story of this remarkable period.
The Working Boats of Talbot County
I In partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM), the exhibit will feature models, photos and artifacts depicting the wide range of sailing and power vessels used by watermen and transportation companies (freight and people) on the rivers and creeks of Talbot County.
