Group Tours Policies & Information
Walking Tour of Easton's Historic District Join us on a guided tour of Easton's historic downtown area. From the historic courthouse to Victorian mansions, Easton features numerous sites that illustrate the fascinating story of Talbot County's development. Tours begin at the Historical Society Musem and cover 5 blocks of historic downtown Easton. The Craftsmen and the Collector Historic House Tour Journey through three historic homes right on the campus of the Historical Society. Visit the shop of cabinetmaker Joseph Neall, and the Federal-era home of his brother, James. Explore the "colonial revial" movement in downtown Easton as established by noted architect H. Chandlee Forman. All three buildings are furnished with period furnishings and are situated around our campus in downtown Easton. In addition, visitors on the House Tour get to explore our award-winning Federal period gardens. Museum & Exhibits
The Historical Society of Talbot County's Museum presents exhibitions using artifacts, images and stories that reflect the diversity and cultural heritage of the Talbot County community. Through a series of rotating exhibits, the Museum offers visitors a chance to explore the history and culture of Talbot County. For current information on exhibitions, please contact Museum Staff.
Group Tours Policies & Information Inquiries and bookings for group tours are handled by the Museum Staff All tours must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance! A $25 deposit is due 2 weeks prior to the tour; the balance is due on the day of the tour In order to insure proper staffing, the Historical Society must receive final confirmation of the group's size within 48 hours of the scheduled tour To receive a refund, tour cancellations must be received by the Historical Society of Talbot County at least 48 hours (2 days) in advance of the scheduled tour The Historical Society of Talbot County also offers beautiful gardens and a fully-equipped auditorium facility as rental spaces for meetings, picnics and meals, etc. If you are interested in using these facilities for your group, please contact the Historical Society's Events Coordinator at (410) 822-0773.
